Shirley W. Litwak, 97, of Oswego died Thursday April 30, 2026 in Morningstar Care Center.

 

Shirley was born in Oswego the daughter late Stanley and Jennie (Phillips) Worden. She grew up and went to school in Oswego, upon getting married to her late husband Chester Litwak, in 1952 they moved to Fulton, where she remained until his passing. She worked as a service representative for NY Telephone, which then became At&T and later Verizon, in Oswego and Syracuse.

Shirley was a devoted wife and was always a caregiver to any family member or friend in need. She was also a social butterfly enjoying conversation, and friendly gatherings.

Shirley had a very strong Catholic faith, and would share her Catholic belief, to her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Chester Litwak and her sister Frances “Tommy” Worden Eusepi. 

Shirley is survived by her great niece and caregiver Brie (Mario) Martinez of Oswego, her niece Shelley Eusepi of Oswego, her great great nephew Jayden Martinez, and great great niece Sophia Martinez, and several Litwak nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 5:00 to 7: 00 Wednesday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St., Oswego. 

A Funeral Service will be conducted 10:00 AM Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish & Shrine, Oswego, NY; where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Morisette.  Burial will be held in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.
