Steve F. Dawang, 76, of Oswego passed away Tuesday at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse following a long illness.
He was born in Glendale, Arizona and was the son of the late Esteban and Mae (Logan) Dawang.
Mr. Dawang was the husband of Marsha (Yule) Dawang; they were married 35 years.
He was a veteran of the US Navy.
Mr. Dawang had been employed at A. Ferlito Farms for over 40 years until his retirement.
Steve was a quiet and prayerful man who loved his family. He loved to cook, garden, watch NASCAR and was an avid bird watcher. He cared for many homeless animals over the years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Noelle Rayman-Metcalf (Tim) of Homer, NY and Jennifer Taylor (Dennis) of Cato, NY, one brother Robert Dawang of Glendale, AZ and five grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Sally Harris of Glendale, AZ
At Steve’s request, there will be no calling hours or services.
Contributions may be made to an animal shelter or a charity of ones choice.
