The Winona Stone Wall 5K has evolved into one of the Northeast’s premier snowshoe events. Conveniently located 6 miles off Exit 39 from I81, Winona Forest is known for its deep snowfalls, and winter wonderland appearance. The snowshoe course takes you through old growth forests and alongside historic stone walls, evidence of pastureland of the 1800’s. Bring the family.
The Stone Wall 5K has gained notoriety as one of the best snowshoe events in the northeast and upstate NY. This year will again boast record participation as this sport grows in popularity.
Photo ops from deep forest vantage points, the start line and across the trails, capturing participants running, walking, crossing creeks and jumping over fallen trees will surely produce a great upstate New York success story of yet another healthy outdoor activity.
