Open-mic night and book drive includes beverage discounts for participants.

Oswego Bookmobile, the nonprofit summer literacy program, is hosting an Open Mic Night at SUNY Oswego's Rich 'N' Pour within Rich Hall. The event begins Tuesday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public. Features include live performances from students and a book drive.

Rich 'N' Pour, the only SUNY student-run cafe, will serve as a host for an extended book drive running April 20-24. Community members and students are encouraged to stop in and drop off new or gently used children's to adult books. Monetary donations can be made at the donation site throughout the week.

"We hope this event will bring students closer to their community and shine a light on our impactful local non-profit," said Lillian Haggerty, Oswego Bookmobile PR and marketing intern and Rich 'N' Pour director of PR.

Students can sign up to perform at the following link: https://forms.gle/wQGtYFTuz39Ur4RL7

Rich 'N' Pour is offering the following incentives during both the open mic night and the week-long book drive:

  • Donate a book and receive 20% off on a drink of your choice. Discount applies once per visit, regardless of the number of books donated.
  • Perform at the Open Mic Night and receive one free drink of your choice.
