The Office of Business and Community Relations at SUNY Oswego is spreading the cheer with National Random Acts of Kindness Week on campus and in the community.
During the week of Feb. 11 to Feb. 15, those on campus and middle school students in Mexico, Phoenix and Oswego City School Districts will be receiving Random Acts of Kindness cards to Go.Do.Good. around our community.
Campus good-doers will perform a Random Act of Kindness, fill in their name on the card and leave it at the scene of the good deed with the receiver. The receiver will fill in their name and a description of the good deed and return the card to one of the designated drop boxes on campus. Both the giver and receiver will be entered in drawings for to win a prize.
"And the fun doesn't stop there," Tammy Elowsky, assistant director, Office of Business and Community Relations in SUNY Oswego, said. "At the drop box, the receiver can pick up a new Random Acts of Kindness card to Go.Do.Good. for someone else. It's all about paying it forward and building community."
Each participating middle school will have its own way of recognizing these good-doing bandits at its school. The community at large is invited to join in the fun, spread the kindness, and celebrate our community by using the card printed here and just Go.Do.Good.
This is an effort by SUNY Oswego's Office of Business and Community Relations to promote collaboration, trust and paying it forward in preparation for its new Community Incubator Initiative. More information about the Community Incubator Initiative will follow in the coming weeks.
