Write a commentOn August 27th, Ree Beshures (Nana) celebrated her 84th birthday and the first person to come celebrate her birthday was Xiaomin.
Xiaomin came back to Oswego from China to see her Nana on her birthday.
"She rang the doorbell and I answered the door in complete shock," Nana said. Nana said that the two instantly started hugging and crying for a long time at the doorway before Nana invited Xiaomin into her home. "I called her the day before and had to pretend I was in China," Xiaomin stated.
Xiaomin stated that before coming to America she had a lot of paperwork to fill out and had an interview with a Visa Officer. "He spoke Chinese the whole time and I was answering the Visa Officer in English," Xiaomin also stated, "The Visa Officer asked if she was my real Qin Nai Nai (Nana in Chinese) and I told him she's as close to my Nana." Xiaomin showed the Visa Officer all the letters Nana had written her along with photographs.
Nana's birthday was celebrated with cake as her son's, her daughter and grandchildren sang her happy birthday and enjoyed cake. Nana not only was surprised by Xiaomin but she also received a letter from Na and Na will be visiting in October.
