On September 10, 2017, the Oswego County Humane Society will host its 12th Annual 5K-9 race, newly renamed the Rover Run 5K & Family Fun Day, at Fallbrook Recreation Center, 103 Thompson Road, Oswego, New York.

The 5K will be timed by Auyers Race Timing and there will be a 1 Mile Family Walk. There is still time to register for this event, which features not only the race and walk, but activities for kids, including races, games, face painting and a blow up inflatable.

Suzi, the half-starved abandoned pit bull rescued by the Humane Society in January and now adopted to a new safe loving home will be there to meet her fans.

The New York State Police K-9 Unit will be there with service dogs. The Oswego County 4H Dog Obedience Drill Team, the Bone Diggers, will perform their prize-winning routine. Also lunch is provided: hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers.

Registration for the timed race is $25, untimed race for runners 13 and over is $20, untimed race for kids 12 and under is $15. Race shirts are included. A family package for up to 5 untimed runners or walkers is $35.

Registration information can be found on the Oswego County Humane Society’s web site at www.oswegohumane.org or for more information, call the Oswego County Humane Society at 315-207-1070.
