Syracuse Orchestra Performs Inside Fort Ontario July 1

The Syracuse Orchestra, previously known as Symphoria!, returns to Fort Ontario State Historic Site on Monday, July 1.

Sponsored by the Richard S. Shineman Foundation, the free concert begins at 7 p.m. on the parade grounds of fort, located at 1 E. Fourth St., Oswego.

The audience will enjoy light classical favorites, patriotic tunes and popular standards with the excellent acoustics inside the old stone fort.

Audience members are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. There is plenty of room on the parade grounds and ramparts to enjoy the concert and a Lake Ontario sunset.

Seating will not be provided; however, cold drinks and other refreshments will be available for sale by the Friends of Fort Ontario and Man in the Moon Candies.

For the sake of concert enjoyment by all, people are asked to please leave their dogs and other pets at home. There will be plenty of free parking.
