The Hook is a concert series highlighting songwriters in a unique format, bringing the power of three individually talented artists into one space.
John McConnell is a professional singer/songwriter based in Oswego, NY. John's own brand of "Lounge Rock" combines elements of jazz, blues, folk and soul and translates into a unique sound that is all its own. Since 2003, John has logged thousands of hours of live performance and he is no stranger to regionally established live music venues. His original music was nominated for a SAMMY Award (Syracuse Area Music Award) in 2011 with the band, Turnip Stampede. For more information visit: johnmcconnell.net.
Bea sings and strums her folky pop songs with the same sincerity she uses to write them. Spending her early adult years in Dallas, Texas, Bea acquainted herself with the local music scene and played every stage she could from small pubs to large capacity venues and opened for acts such as Norah Jones, John Mayer and James Taylor. Her ambitions eventually drove her to NYC where she played on subway platforms to make rent. After a five year break from music, a beautiful baby boy and a move to upstate later, Bea found herself being once again drawn to her first loves – her guitar and the stage. Bea's third and forthcoming album is her first full length studio recorded effort. Outfitted with the formidable talents of Grammy Award winning drummer and noted producer, Brady Blade (Dave Matthews, Emmylou Harris, Jewel) and accomplished award winning engineer, Chris Bell (U2, The Eagles, Erykah Badu), the album is expected to release early next year.
Charley Orlando is the essence of heart in music. Having released 16 albums Charley continues to paint outside the lines of convention! In his 25 plus year career he has been added to the GRAMMY entry ballot a total of 28 times and played over 3,000 shows in North America!
“The Hook” Songwriters Concerts are offered throughout the Oswego Music Hall 2016-17 season. This show is December 9 at 7:30pm at the Oswego Music Hall, McCrobie Building 41 Lake Street, Oswego, NY. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the River’s End Bookstore in Oswego, online at www.oswegomusichall.org or at the door. Doors open at 7pm.
