Write a commentThomas F. Oughterson, 73; of Oswego, NY passed peacefully surrounded by love at his home Wednesday, December 10th, 2025, after enduring a lengthy illness.
Mr. Oughterson was born in Auburn, NY to the late Richard and Doris (Drake) Oughterson. He has been a longtime resident of Oswego, NY.
Mr. Oughterson was a United States Veteran having served in the Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War from 1972-1974. He was a longtime Bus Driver and even continued driving for the Oswego City School District while working as an Oswego City Fireman from 1989-2009. Tom was a kind man who enjoyed travel and his 1975 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He also enjoyed wind surfing for most of his life.
Tom is survived by his daughter: Chelsea Oughterson of OR, his stepdaughter: Paige (Vincent) Fisher of WY; his best friend and loyal caregiver: Patricia L. Oughterson of WY, his brothers: Richard Oughterson and Scott Oughterson both of Auburn, NY and several nieces and nephews. Tom was very excited that he was going to be a grandpa for the first time to his soon to be grandchild due in January.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes a Funeral Service and Burial will be privately held at the convenience of the family. There will be no Calling Hours. The Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St., Oswego, NY has care of the arrangements.
