Trinity Catholic School will hold an Open House from 6:30-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 115 E. Fifth St. in Oswego. The Open House is designed for parents in the community who are interested in enrolling their children for the 2013-2014 school year. Parents will be able to meet the teachers, tour the building and speak to parents of current Trinity students. Application packets will be available, and refreshments will be served.
Trinity Catholic School serves students in pre-school through sixth grade. Students in the three year old pre-k program may enroll in a two-day or three-day program. Four-year-old pre-k students have a choice of a three-day or five-day program. Kindergarten is a full-day program.
Trinity's Latchkey program is available both before and after school hours. All students, pre-k through sixth grade, may participate in the Latchkey program.
All students at Trinity, including pre-k students, participate in art, music, library and physical education classes on a weekly basis. In addition, foreign language and technology classes are offered to students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Instrumental music is available beginning in fourth grade. Remedial reading is also available for those students who need a little extra help.
Trinity Catholic serves students from across Oswego County. While the majority of students are from the Oswego community, students from Fulton, Mexico and Hannibal also attend Trinity. Transportation is provided at no cost to families through the students' home school districts.
One of Trinity Catholic's greatest strengths is its commitment to small class sizes. By keeping the classes small in number, teachers are able to provide true individual instruction. Students who grasp the curriculum easily can be challenged with more advanced material, while those who need assistance are easily given attention.
Students at Trinity are able to participate in a number of challenging activities throughout the school year, including Library Club, Intramurals, Science Club, the Battle of the Books and the Scripps Spelling Bee. In addition, Trinity offers many family-oriented events, including the Grandparents Lunch, Harvest Feast, Winter Yard Sale and BBQ, Spring Fun Fling, and a Sledding Party. Students, teachers, parents, and even grandparents all band together to create a genuine family atmosphere in the school, where everyone knows, supports, and helps each other.
