The Oswego County Solid Waste Department announced a change today for the weigh scale at the Oswego Transfer Station, 700 E. Seneca St., Oswego.
Effective immediately, the allowable weight to cross the scale will be reduced to 30,000 pounds maximum. This means that vehicles and/or trailer combinations in excess of that weight will have to use an alternative transfer station.
Other Oswego County Transfer Stations are located at:
- Bristol Hill: 3125 NYS Rte. 3, Fulton
- Hastings: 1391 U.S. Rte. 11, Hastings
The County’s Solid Waste Department reminds residents that the weigh scale at the Pulaski Transfer Station, located at 100 Co. Rte. 2A, remains closed due to an electrical issue. Public notification will be made once that scale is repaired and back in operation.
Please also note that the Hannibal Transfer Station, located at 1167 Co. Rte. 7, is a local “residential” deposit with no vehicle scale. Bags are weighed on a pit-side scale that has a weight capacity of 1,000 pounds.
