The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center would like to announce its program Wildflower Walk.

Happening on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, from 10:00am to 11:30am, this program is open to people of all ages and will focus on spring wildflowers. Have you ever noticed that some flowers which grow in the woods only bloom for a very short time before seemingly disappearing for the rest of the year? This program will answer that question.

Beginning indoors, participants will discover special adaptations some spring flowers have. They will also get an introduction to the scientific method of naming flowers. After practicing some identification skills, participants will join a guided expedition to search for blooms in the woods and wetlands. Will any rare blossoms be found? Along the way, different flower histories and ecological interactions will be discussed.

This program offers a unique opportunity to view some species of flowers only seen during this time of year. The program fee is $4 per person and up to $12 per family. Advanced registration is encouraged, as space is limited. To register for this program, visit: https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/WildflowerWalk_235. For questions or more information, contact Katrina Relyea, 4-H Natural Resources Educator with the Oswego County 4-H Office, at (315)963-7286 ext. 401 or kmr276@cornell.edu.
