
William G. Pittenger, 55, of Oswego, died June 22, 2016 at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, N.Y., he was the son of the late Owen Pittenger and surviving mother, Elizabeth “Betty” (Dixon) Pittenger of Garner, N.C.
William worked as a chemistry specialist at Entergy for 33 years until he retired in January 2016.
He enjoyed camping, the “art” of fishing, and woodworking. He also loved helping others.
William is survived by his wife, Tammy (Murray) Pittenger; his daughters, Chelsea Pittenger of Fulton, N.Y. and Rachel Pittenger of Oswego, N.Y.; his son, Adam Pittenger of Oswego, N.Y.; a brother, Robert Pittenger of Hemet, C.A.; sisters, Jeanette (David) Kratz of Camillus N.Y., Sandra (Nick) Christantelli of Cotopaxi, C.O., and Jeanine (Daniel) Petersen of Garner, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held 4pm – 7pm Tuesday, June 28th, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego, N.Y.
Services will be held at 11am Wednesday, June 29th, at Nelson Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at Rural Cemetery.
