Oswego County 4-H Program, part of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County (CCE Oswego), is pleased to announce an exciting Youth Fly Tying Workshop to be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the CCE Oswego Office in Mexico.
This hands-on workshop is designed to introduce youth ages 12 to 18 to the art and skill of fly tying—an essential part of the centuries‑old tradition of fly fishing. Participants will learn how to create their own flies using basic materials and techniques, guided by experienced instructors who enjoy sharing their passion for the sport.
The session is ideal for beginners and young outdoor enthusiasts interested in fishing, craftsmanship, or trying something new. All materials and equipment will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Registration fee is only $10. Early signups are encouraged to ensure a spot. Please visit https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/youthflytying_235 to register.
