Kirk & Suzanne Beason have graciously offered to host this year's party & meeting at their home, located at 120 W 7th St in Oswego (just 2 houses behind Byrne Dairy).

The Beason's home is handicap accessible with a ramp at the back door, and a chair lift inside to get to the main floor. There is parking in their driveway for 2-3 cars; please leave this open for those with mobility issues. There is plenty of on-street parking near their home for everyone else.
The evening will begin at 6:00 with a brief meeting to recap the year's events and take care of elections. The party will begin around 6:30. Please feel free to bring your favorite party food or 'specialty' beverage to share. Kirk & Suzanne welcome those who would like to stay beyond 8:00.
Art Association of Oswego, Inc. Board Elections – Dec. 6, 2019
According to the AAO Bylaws, we must have a least 7 but not more than 17 Directors for the Board of Directors and all Directors shall be current Members of the Art Association of Oswego. We currently have three Board Members who are in the middle of a 2-year term, six Board Members who have finished a 2-year term and wish to serve again, and one new nominee to the Board. One of our current Board Members has chosen to no longer serve at this time. If all eligible participants are elected/re-elected, we would have a governing body of ten members. You may vote for as many of the people listed below as you wish to be on the AAO Board of Directors. Those who receive a simple majority of ‘yes’ votes from those who participate in the vote will be elected/re-elected to the Board.
Name & Bio Summary
New Nominees:
- Lawrence Rapshaw – Oswego: Larry has been an AAO member for a couple years and was appointed to the Board of Directors in October 2019 to fill a vacancy left when Aaron Lee stepped down. He has been instrumental in helping to plan and prepare for the Bemelman's Festival for the past 3 years. Larry holds a BS in Education from SUNY Oswego with a focus on Curriculum Development. He worked as an art & music teacher at a private school for several years, has taught private music lessons for over 40 years, and has 25 years of experience working with geriatrics in therapeutic recreation.
Seeking Re-election:
- Jacqueline Neveu – Scriba: Jackie has been a member of the AAO since 2000 and has served as treasurer since 2010. In addition to that, she is part of the grant-writing and outreach-management team and creates the electronic newsletters for the AAO. Jackie is a bookkeeper by profession; she has over 20 years of experience and has owned and operated a bookkeeping business since 2003.
- Justin Losurdo – Oswego: Justin joined the AAO in early 2017 and became a board member at the end of 2017. He has a degree in Information Technology and serves as our IT specialist. He also creates most of our website & social media content.
- Karen Ringwald – New Haven: Karen has been a member of the AAO for over 15 years, has served as secretary continuously since January 2012, and she is part of the grant-writing and outreach-management team. Karen holds a degree in studio arts and also has experience as a gallery manager.
- Laurie Kester – Oswego: Laurie has been a member of the AAO for over 25 years, and has served as president continuously since January 2012. She has also served in the past as president and as education coordinator. Laurie is a retired teacher with an art certification, and also runs a stained glass business. For the past year she has also served on a steering committee to develop an Arts & Cultural Master Plan for the City of Oswego.
- Linda Shannon – Oswego: Linda has been a Board Member for the past 2 years and she has been indispensable in helping to set up and manage our ceramic studio since our renovation. Linda is a retired art teacher who taught art at all levels K-12 in Phoenix and Oswego School Districts.
- William DeMott – Oswego: Bill has been a member of the AAO for over 20 years, and has functioned as the exhibition coordinator for much of that time. Bill has also served as president and vice president during his time with the AAO. Professionally, Bill is an art professor and teaches at several local colleges.
