Write a commentWe have featured Fred before, but he still needs a home.
He was rescued from under a trailer out in the country after his elderly owner had to go to a nursing home. You would think he had been a pampered house cat his whole life (well except for his bunged up ear, probably from being attacked by an animal or maybe frost bite.) He is a sturdy handsome Tuxedo who loves people, complete strangers even. He plops himself in whatever lap is available at every opportunity. He will take over your sofa, and, if you let him, your bed. If you like standoffish cats that that hardly deign to acknowledge your existence, Fred is NOT for you. He will not only acknowledge your existence, he will treat you like the most important person in the universe! (Until another lap comes along.)
But here's the catch with Fred. He's FIV positive. Now that is not as dire a problem as it may sound. FIV is not contagious to humans or other species. Though it can be contagious from cat to cat, it's difficult to spread; transmission usually requires a deep bite wound. Fred is healthy and happy and with good vet care he can live a long normal life. As long as he is an only cat, there is no danger of him infecting another cat. So please give this handsome fella a chance. He will reward you with endless affection and entertainment.
