The Elm’s Golf Course in Sandy Creek recently went pink as it hosted a golf tournament to aid in the fight against breast cancer. A bright pink ribbon painted on the course welcomed the participating teams as they teed off against cancer.
The tournament raised more than $2,400 with Oswego County Opportunities Cancer Services Program, Rally for the Cure, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation each receiving donations.
“We are thrilled that committee that organized the event, which included Jan Atkinson, Jane Henderson, Patti Kinglsey and Margaret Miller thought to include us in their donations,” said Cancer Services Coordinator Carolyn Handville. “I extend a gracious thank you to the committee as well as Fulton Boiler Works, Deaton’s Ace Hardware and the Elm’s Golf Course for their generous contributions. It’s rewarding to know that the work that we do is acknowledged and appreciated.”
