Compass FCU Charity Golf Outing Raises $5,100 for Local Youth Sports Programs

Compass Federal Credit Union’s 8th annual Charity Golf Outing, held at Battle Island Golf Course on Friday, June 21, raised $5,100 for Oswego’s Little League and Youth Soccer programs.

Oswego Little League and Youth Soccer will split the proceeds, each collecting $2,550.

A gray start to the morning gave way to beautiful blue skies and sunshine as ten teams teed it up to raise money for youth sports.

Following 18 holes of golf it was Team Soucy leading the way with team members Mike Soucy, Jim Kosbob, Leigh Shortslef and Jim Bartholomew ending with a final score of 61.

The Canale Insurance squad of Dave, Tracy and Mike Canale, along with Tom Rolland took second place.

Sanford’s Mulligans consisting of Mike and Ike Sanford, as well as Terry and Terri Dopp took third place.

Closest to the pin honors went to Ed Kelly (hole 6), John Boardway (hole 9) and Soucy (hole 17).

Closest to the line on hole 10 went to Jan Mileskey with Mike Sanford hitting the longest drive.

Sanford also went on to win the three-putt contest.

Canale Insurance once again sponsored a $10,000 grand prize for a hole-in-one on hole 9, which was not claimed.
