The Oswego County Historical Society received a generous gift of a dozen poinsettias from the Oswego Wal-Mart to add to the holiday decor of the Richardson-Bates House Museum. Located at 135 East Third Street in Oswego, the museum is currently decorated in the Victorian spirit for the Christmas season.

"We welcome visitors to view the beautiful holiday decorations throughout the house museum and to learn more about our local history," said Peg McKinstry, historical society board trustee. "It is with great appreciation that the Oswego Wal-Mart made this generous donation."

The Oswego County Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the rich history of the county. The society maintains and operates the Richardson-Bates House Museum, a historic landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The museum is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 1 - 5 p.m. and other days by appointment. For more information visit the museum website at www.rbhousemuseum.org for regular updates or call during regular hours at 315-343-1342.
