OK, if you want to spend a couple of hours just sitting in the dark and laughing a little and giggling a lot, you need to make a reservation right now to see the CNY Arts Center’s production of Always A Bridesmaid.
What could be funnier than four good friends of 30 years trying to live up to some outlandish promises made at their Senior Prom long ago. I mean really, promising to be in one another’s weddings is one thing. But what would happen if everyone has repeated this task many times over the passing years. So, you must come to meet these four very unique woman as they try their hardest to keep that promise.
Take Libby Ruth Ames for example. She’s well known to her friends as the hopeless romantic. She’s a sweet county woman who is totally guileless. And Paul McKinney, director, has chosen none other than Beth DeRousie to bring Libby Ruth alive on stage .
Beth is a favorite among theater goers and brings her talents to light up Libby Ruth to the max. Beth enjoys entertaining audiences throughout Oswego County and beyond. She has performed in a number of musicals and plays with the Oswego Players, Baldwinsville Theatre Group, The Red House, Great Northern Artists Collaborative and CNY Arts Center. Among her many credits include: Nuncrackers! (Reverend Mother); Once Upon A Mattress (Lady Larkin); Bye Bye Birdie; Oklahoma; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat; Ghost the Musical (Mrs. Santiago), 9 to 5 the Musical (Roz Keith), Savannah Sipping Society (Dot Haigler) TANYS Award. As usual, Beth will bring a smile to your face again when she glides onto the Art Scene Stage.
Beth and her fellow actresses, Sherri Metz, Megan Murtha, Millie Grace, Beverly Murtha, and Jennifer Waugh bring up the lights April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 2024, at the CNY Art Center, 121 Cayuga St. in Fulton, NY. Reservations may be made by calling the Box Office at 315-598-2787 or online at cnyartscenter.org.
