CNY Arts Center joins Jazz Fest weekend with the 5th annual Arts Fest offering multiple art experiences around Fulton, August 12-14 including a Fun Walk around the city bridges to support the Arts along with arts and crafts vendors and theatre performances of Pollyanna at night.

The weekend begins with the family friendly summer musical Pollyanna running Friday night at 8pm at the Arts Center at 11 River Glen Dr. on the Cayuga College fulton campus.

Saturday art events take place at the Fulton Community Center Ice Rink where arts and crafts vendors will exhibit their handmade art from 10am to 7pm. Visitors who visit each booth and submit a completed “Artist Passport” will be entered to win a weekend stay at Chase Lake Lodge located in the Adirondacks, courtesy of McClellan Paint Company.

The Tale of Two Bridges Fun Walk will take-off from the Ice Rink Saturday at 10am. Individuals and teams of walkers who raise pledges will compete for prizes as they walk from the War Memorial to downtown, around both bridges and back to the Community Center Ice Rink. Prizes will be awarded for The Largest Community Group, Most Funds Raised (Individual & Group), Best Team Spirit, and Most Artistic/ Creative (Individual & Group). Fun is the theme for this event and prizes will be awarded at 1pm.

Food will be available from Tavern on the Lock and Treat Me Sweet desserts for shoppers until 3pm. Home Depot will host a children’s work station from 3-5pm for families to enjoy a woodworking project. At 5pm, Jazz Fest reopens with food and festivities that last into the night while Pollyanna lights up the stage at the Arts Center at 8pm again.

Festivities conclude Sunday with a 3pm matinee of Pollyanna and an art show and silent auction at the Arts Center for paintings of historical Fulton featured onstage during the musical.

“We’re celebrating our 5th anniversary in a big way by bringing these art events together in one weekend,” said Executive Director, Nancy Fox “pooling our efforts and our volunteers into one unforgettable weekend. We hope the community will come out to support the arts. With art activities from music to stage performances to local, handmade original arts and crafts, to the simple fun of walking the bridges, Fulton is the place to be that weekend.”
