Carsie Blanton absolutely wowed a capacity crowd at the Oswego Music Hall on Saturday night!

The young but veteran singer-songwriter was accompanied by her longtime bass player and vocalist Joe Plowman.

The two put on quite a performance, playing songs from Blanton's most recent albums, After The Revolution and The Red Album and all the way back to, "... early in my career when I still tried to write love songs." Her viral hit, "Fishin' With You," a tribute to the late John Prine, drew a warm round of applause from the very appreciative audience.

The crowd also actively took part in several call and response song choruses (including a couple of bawdy ones) as well as snapping their fingers to accompany Blanton on the jazzy viral hit song, "Rich People."

The 90-minute show went by quickly, as Blanton's storytelling abilities are equal to her songwriting. A standing ovation from the crowd even brought Blanton and Plowman back to the stage for an encore. All in all, it was an outstanding show!

Next up at the Oswego Music Hall will be an Open Mic Night on Friday, November 15 hosted by Rich Hart.

On Saturday evening, November 16, folk singer and dobro player Abbie Gardner will perform, with Ryan David James opening. Advance sale tickets are available online at OswegoMusicHall.org, or they can be purchased at The River's End Bookstore in downtown Oswego.

The wheelchair-accessible Oswego Music Hall is located inside the historic McCrobie Civic Center at 41 Lake Street in Oswego.
