USOswego - the tribute event for Oswego County Veterans, is in rehearsal for its premier at American Foundry on November 13th and director Jennifer Gordon (Jump & Jive) couldn’t be more thrilled to see her vision come to life! “Sometimes I forget that I’m married to a hero, but when I look across the room and see his eyes glaze over, slipping away into the past, I remember his sacrifice.”

Jennifer just had to see this variety show style event in living color... RED, WHITE and BLUE! She rallied a committee including active community members like Victoria Usherwood Gailinas of iHeartOswego, Nate Emmons of Just Push Play Productions, Kyle Cheeley of King Arthur's Suites, Tammy Wilkinson of Theatre Du Jour & Matthew Wood of On the Porch Radio and got to work!

With a cast and crew of amazing volunteers and local entertainers on deck, folks giving of their time and services in many generous ways, she is well on her way to an event we can all be proud of each year. “While I may have successfully expressed my admiration and profound gratitude to my own hero, I hope to help the city of Oswego do the same for our local military family of all ages. Instead of dwelling on painful memories, my hope is that our USOswego variety show, highlighting music, dancing, commercials, and comedy from the 1940s-1970s, will allow our local heroes, families and friends to laugh, sing, and dance down memory lane."

USO entertainers (casting courtesy of Theatre Du Jour), include Geoff Ameele, Nolan Callahan, Ellen Clark, Adele Cronk, Eric Cronk, Dan Dalin, Matthew Gordon, Stephanie Johnson, Terry LeRoi, Nelson Metz, Brian Pringle, Nellica Rave, Garrett Robinson, Aleta Walborn, Jimmy Wachter, Natasia Lee White and Dan Williams!

CNY actor & business owner Jimmy Wachter (Sweet Jimmy's / Color Me Streisand) will be paying tribute to the one and only Bing Crosby. Local caterer Aleta Walborn (Green Mama's) will be bringing her true-to-life Phyllis Diller & Nancy Sinatra to the stage. Business owner/vocalist Terry LeRoi (LeRoi, Inc.) and guitar instructor/musician Jimmy Eckert, (A&J Music) will be showcasing a stunning Simon & Garfunkel classic!

The show offers two performances on November 13th. A matinee at 2pm and an evening show with dinner from 6-10pm! Dinner selection will be fresh-carved turkey dinner with golden raisins dressing, mashed potatoes with onions, cranberry sauce, carrots with orange glaze and salad. Cash bar will be available. Tickets for the event are available online and at iHeartOswego.com headquarters at 29 West Seneca street! Complete information for the event can be found at http://www.USOswego.com.

In addition to the matinee and dinner shows, USOswego will be presenting a Veteran's Day Breakfast on November 11th at the Oswego Alliance Church Community Center from 7 to 10 AM. The breakfast is free for veterans and cost $7 for others wishing to attend.

Please come out to show your support for our veterans!
