Jarvis and Ward named Oswego State Athletes of the Week

Leslie Jarvis (Newmarket, Ontario), a junior defender on the women's ice hockey team, and Hayden Ward (Montauk, N.Y.), a senior forward on the men's basketball team, have been named the Oswego State Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 18.      Jarvis scored her first collegiate goal on Saturday; a power-play marker with 7.2 seconds remaining in overtime gave the Oswego State women's ice hockey team a 2-1 victory over Neumann to complete the weekend sweep. The defender also assisted the first goal in Friday's 4-2 victory over Neumann. The Lakers are now 4-2-0 in conference play, which puts them third in the ECAC West.
Ward averaged 16.5 points and eight rebounds in the opening two games of the men's basketball season, lifting the Lakers to their second straight Max Ziel Tournament Title. Oswego State played from behind for just 30 seconds all weekend, and Ward's 12-for-18 performance from the field and 6-for-6 shooting from the foul line helped the Lakers stay ahead. Ward earned MVP honors for the tournament, after making the All-Tournament Team in last season's triumph.
