The Oswego State women's tennis team was edged out by Plattsburgh 5-4 on the road on Saturday afternoon.
Oswego took an early lead in doubles, when Allison Ullrich and Jill Travis beat their opponents 8-4, and Lorrayne Broach and Bridget Bender defeated theirs 8-6.
The Lakers had a 2-1 lead going into singles. In first singles, Ullrich fought back after falling 6-1 in the first set, and her 6-1 win in set two forced a superset, but she was not able to overcome her opponent.
Plattsburgh took the first four singles matches, but Oswego finished singles with two wins. Junior Haru Kobayashi won 6-2, 6-0, while freshman Erin Vargo blanked her opponent in the first set and finished the day with a 6-2 win in the second set.
