The Oswego State men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Elmira Fall Invitational Tuesday, Sept. 24.
As a team, the Lakers shot a 331 (+42) which was 17 strokes off the pace set by the host school, Elmira College (314, +26).
Leading the way for Oswego was John Mackie, whose 78 (+6) was good for a tie for fifth place. Also finishing in the top 10 for the Lakers was Tyler Wurzer. Wurzer shot a 79 (+7), just a stroke back of Mackies team-best, tying for ninth place.
Dan North missed a top 20 finish by just one stroke, shooting an 85 (+13). Rounding out the scoring for the Lakers was Kyle Gaillard's 89 (+17). Gaillard is the reigning Male Athlete of the Week at Oswego after his team-best score in Oswego's top-finish at last week's Oswego Sate 16th Annual Fall Invitational.
The golf team will get time to rest for more than a week before returning to action at 10 a.m., Oct. 5, for the ECAC Mid-Atlanic Championships which will be held at Blue Heron Hill Country Club in Rochester.
