The Oswego State men's golf team is in third place after the first round of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship, which is being held at Blue Heron Hills Country Club.
Oswego trails Clarkson University by 11 strokes while the Lakers sit 29 back of leader No. 19 St. John Fisher College.
The fourth place team, Hobart College, is four strokes behind Oswego's team score of 312 after day one.
Dan North led the Lakers with a 75(+4) on Saturday. His round was good for a tie for seventh place.
Also shooting in the 70s were teammates Kyle Brockmann (78, +7) and Kyle Gaillard (79, +8). Brockmann is in a tie for 17th place on the individual leaderboard while Gaillard is tied for 21st.
Rounding out the scoring for Oswego was Tyler Wurzer, who put together a solid round of 80 (+9).
The team will go off for the final round Sunday, Oct. 6, as part of the leaders grouping, playing alongside Fisher and Clarkson. Oswego's first golfer will tee-off with his Cardinal and Golden Knight counterpart starting at 10 a.m. Each grouping from the three schools will then tee-off in 10-minute intervals.
