Members of the men`s and women`s indoor track and field teams competed at the Kane Invitational Saturday at Cornell University.
Several members of the men's squad recorded top 10 finishes on the track, including Matthew Wagenhauser taking third in the 400-meter dash (50.36), Nicholas Reinsdorf placing fifth in the 1000-meter run (2:37.10), and Damian Archie in 10th place in the mile run (4:28.73). The 4x800 relay team of Andy Baldwin, Steven DenBleyker, Reinsdorf, and Wagenhauser also took fourth in a time of 8:12.53.
In the field, Chris Bridgewater recorded a seventh place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 13.5 meters (44 feet, 3.5 inches).
On the women's side, Katie Bott finished fourth in the 800-meter run (2:19.41) and the women's 4x400-meter relay team of Kristen Harrigan, Sarah Popovitch, Marissa Pariseau, and Bott also earned a fourth place finish at 4:09.38.
Other top-25 results for the men included Nick Oetinger taking 14th in the 5000-meter run (18:36.53) while Brandon Comden placed 18th in the 60-meter dash (7.43). Teammate Alexander Lara took 25th in the 500-meter dash (1:12.91) while Comden again performed well with a 24.21 for 23rd in the 200-meter dash.
Rounding out the top 25 finishers were Bridgewater in 13th in the long jump (6.38 meters) and Adam Crumb in 19th in the long jump (6.10 meters),
For the women, Sarah Popovitch took 12th in the mile run (5:25.94) while Katie Laris placed 21st in the same event (5:39.74). Ashalee Joseph grabbed 24th place in the 60-meter dash (8.37) while Bott took 13th in the 400 (1:01.4).
Alexis Carey ran the 500 meter dash in 1:30.4, good for 20th place. Laris again placed in the top 25, with a 23rd finish in the 800 (2:33.74). Brittany Lamie secured a 22nd finish in the 3000 (12:41.22) while Harrigan placed well in the field, taking 17th place in the long jump (4.83 meter).
Abigail Boyce took 13th in the triple jump (9.86) and Mallory Eckert took 17th in both the weight throw (8.98 meters) and shot put (8.38 meters).
Finally, Jessica Presti took 24th in the long jump (4.34 meters) and 17th in the triple jump (9.51 meters).
Oswego will return to action next Saturday when it travels to Brockport for the Golden Eagle Invitational.
