Statement From Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay

Will Barclay

After a great deal of consideration, I have decided that I will not seek re-election to the 120th Assembly District. I intend to step down as Minority Leader in the coming days, allowing for a smooth transition to new leadership early in the legislative session.

Oswego Women`s Basketball Downed by Late Run

    OS Basketball The Oswego State women's basketball team were overcome by a late-run from Buffalo State to fall 71-60 to the Bengals in Max Ziel Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. Oswego's loss drops the team to 1-4 in conference play and 5-7 overall.

     Alison Nunziato finished a layup with 8:21 remaining in the game to pull the Lakers with one at 56-55. After that basket, Oswego was unable to score for the next 6:22, allowing the Bengals to open an 11-point lead, 66-55, with 2:19 left to play.

     The Lakers came back from Buffalo State's early 11-3 run to start the second half, eventually recapturing the lead they held in the first half. Oswego's lead came off a Jenn Robbins traditional 3-point play at 11:14, making the score 51-49. The two teams played even over the next three minutes until the Lakers scoring drought took hold.

     In the first half, Oswego held the lead for most of the period, growing its largest lead to seven at 19-12 with 10 minutes gone in the stanza. The Bengals cut the Lakers advantage over the final ten minutes, taking a 30-29 lead into the break.

     Paula Egelston paced Oswego with a double-double, scoring a team-high 16 points with a game-high 15 rebounds.Jenn Robbins had the second-most points for the Lakers, tallying 15. The senior had five rebounds, four assists and a steal as well.

     Also finishing with double digits for Oswego was Lauren Nunziato with 12.

     The Lakers will be back to work at 6 p.m. on Tuesday when New Paltz comes to campus for a SUNYAC challenge.
