Write a comment

Nominations for the Compass Federal Credit Union Board of Directors can now be made by petition.

Nominations remain open through Thursday, March 20 for four vacancies on the Board.

The petition is now available for download at www.compassfcu.com via the Board of Directors Info link under the Services tab, or at any branch.

There will be no nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting, which is set to be held inside Compass Federal Credit Union’s Fulton branch at 208 North Second St. on Thursday, May 8.

In order to be placed on the ballot, the petition must be signed by 80 fellow Compass members.  Interested nominees must also provide a Qualifications/Bio form, which is also available for download via the Board of Directors page.  All paperwork, including the petition, is to be emailed to the Nominations Committee at nominations@compassfcu.com by March 20.

Current nominees for the Board include incumbents Andrew Bucher, Angela Galvin and Clark Sargeant as well as first time nominees Jeffrey Baker Jr., William Bosch and Margaret Prisco.

A resident of Oswego, Andrew Bucher is seeking election onto the Compass Board for the third time.  Andrew supervises the criminal investigations division of the Oswego County Sherriff’s Office, while also owning and managing a local real estate business, ABC Oswego.  If re-elected, Andrew is eager to continue making more meaningful contributions to the local community.

Also a resident of Oswego, Galvin is completing her first term on the Compass Board.  During her tenure, Angela has served as an officer (secretary) and chaired, or co-chaired, the annual picnic and scholarship committees.  Retired from SUNY Oswego in 2022, Angela brings 35 years of professional services experience.  In addition to her work on the Compass board, Angela also volunteers on the board of the Hall Newman Center Foundation.  There she serves as an officer, co-chairs the Development Committee, and serves on the Finance Committee.  In addition, she continues to volunteer on the SUNY Oswego SEFA Committee, a charitable organization that she chaired for several years which serves organizations and people of all ages and backgrounds in the Oswego community and beyond.

Residing in Sterling, Clark Sargeant is seeking his second term on the Compass Board.  Clark is the acting Executive Director of Mental Health and Wellness at Oswego Health and oversee operations for Inpatient, Outpatient Adult, Outpatient Youth, School-based and Assertive Community Treatment services.  In addition, Clark establishes goals, budgets, plans, organizes, implements, and coordinates all mental health programs and collaborates with the local governing unit and senior leadership teams at Oswego Health to ensure that psychiatric needs are being met for the community.

Jeffrey Baker Jr., a resident of Mexico, is seeking his first term on the Board.  Jeffrey is currently employed as the CASH Department Manager at Novelis, where he has been employed since 2012.  Jeffrey hopes to be a voice for the plant within the credit union, aiming to continue to foster a relationship between the two that has been in place for nearly 60 years.

Retired from SUNY Oswego, Oswego resident William Bosch is running for the Compass Board for the first time.  If elected, William is eager to help Compass continue to grow within Oswego County.  William has previously served on the Board of Directors for College Services at SUNY Oswego and has run several programs for the local YMCA, as well as Oswego Softball.

Oswego’s Margaret Prisco is a retired senior programmer for SUNY Oswego, and is seeking her first term on the Compass Board.  Margaret served as a project manager at the college and was also a Board member for the Art Association of Oswego and is hopeful to be involved in the future direction of the credit union.
