Deborah Ann Rose, 61, a resident of Parish, NY, passed away Thursday, August 7, in Syracuse.
Deborah was born in Syracuse, and was the daughter of the late Herbert Lewis and Nettie Mae (Martin).
She had been employed as a Registered Nurse, and was a graduate of Crouse Nursing School. She had cared for patients at various nursing homes including Loretto, Pontiac, and St. Luke nursing homes in Oswego.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and also cared for many children who were not her own. When she recognized a child in need, she would do whatever she could to help, including taking children into her own home. She always had compassion and concern for the underserved in the area.
She was a fun-loving person who will be missed by many.
Deborah is survived by three daughters, Alicia Butcher of Scriba, Karen Butcher of Scriba, and Cheryl Durval of Parish; four sons, Nathaniel Rose of Scriba, William (Jamie) Butcher of Altmar, Dakota Rose of Oswego, and Ryan Butcher of Parish; one brother, John Rose of Altmar; two sisters, Linda Rose of Altmar, and Jodi Lewis Babcock of Sandy Creek; her partner of 22 years, Joseph Durval of Parish; a close friend who was like a sister, Karen Ackley of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren, Robbie, Matt, Natalie, Anthony, Daniel, Patrick, Sean, Aubrey, Ethan, Liam, Aleeah, Naomi, Evan, Ezekiel, Sonnet, and Aria; and a sister-in-law, Val Rose of Altmar.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Rob Rose.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Orwell.
Arrangements are in the care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
