Residents of Oswego may place their orders for December Food Sense packages until noon on Friday, Dec. 5 in person at Salvation Army Worship and Service Center, 73 W. Second St.

The December package contains Salisbury steak, ground chicken, breakfast sausage, bacon, eggs, pancake mix, hash brown potatoes, breakfast sandwich, mixed vegetables, applesauce, and fresh produce.

Payment of $15.50 or by EBT card must accompany the order. Complete size and price information will be available at the time of ordering and the order form may be seen on Facebook: The Salvation Army-Oswego County Corps.

Additional December specials at various prices include ham, shrimp, scalloped potatoes, meatloaf, cheddar pasta bake, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders.

Orders must be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 17, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Orders cannot be taken by phone.

The Food $en$e program is a service of the Food Bank of Central New York. A basic assortment of food items is offered each month, along with a number of specials. Any Oswego families wishing to stretch their food dollars may use the program. There are no restrictions on the number of items one may buy and there are no income limitations. The Oswego County Salvation Army is the official site for the City of Oswego.

The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps provides fresh-cooked meals five days each week in both Fulton and Oswego, groceries from its food pantries, and many other services to individuals and families in need throughout Oswego County.

This year’s Christmas Kettle Campaign needs to raise $106,000 to support the work of the Army all year long. There are opportunities for individuals and families, as well as organizations and groups of all kinds to lend a hand. Call the special Red Kettle line at 315-207-3359 to volunteer or ask questions. Anyone wanting more information or to offer service as a volunteer may call 343-6491.
