Donald James Leavens went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the one true King, and his loving wife, Elaine Marie Leavens, who preceded him in 2007, on July 21, 2025.
Mr. Leavens was born in Oswego, NY, on September 9, 1945, to Lewis and Gladys Leavens, one of nine children. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting coins and stamps, playing bingo, and the occasional pinochle game.
Mr. Leavens proudly served in the United States Navy as a firefighter aboard the USS Enterprise. Upon returning from service, he met his loving, caring, and devoted wife, Elaine Marie (Stevenson) Leavens. Mr. Leavens was a volunteer firefighter for nearly 25 years while working at Armstrong World Industries until his retirement in 1994.
Throughout their life together, Mr. and Mrs. Leavens experienced many ups and downs but were always guided back to the path of Christ and His teachings. They raised three children: Kimberly Marie, Katrina Marie, and Andrew James.
Although we are all sinners, those who seek Christ are saved and greeted in Heaven by the Lord. Mr. Leavens will now share eternity in the everlasting light of God Almighty, alongside his loving wife, Elaine Marie, and the family, friends, and loved ones who went before him.
Mr. Leavens is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly Marie Leavens (Keith Fetterly) and Katrina Marie Eason, as well as his son, Andrew James Leavens (Darlene Leavens). He is also survived by five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
At the family's request, they ask that everyone who reads this obituary say a prayer for their own loved ones and remember that the only true salvation is through Christ, the Lord of all.
