Erin’s Angels of CNY has appointed Jack Pflanz as its first director of fund development and communications, a new leadership role created to support the nonprofit’s expanding programs and growing community presence.
Pflanz brings a strong background in nonprofit fundraising and communications, with a focus on advancing equity, creating awareness and increasing organizational capacity. In his new role, he will lead development strategy, strengthen donor engagement, coordinate communications, and help expand the organization’s impact.
“Adding Jack to our team marks a significant milestone for Erin’s Angels,” said Sheila Dion, founder and Executive Director. “His life experience with food insecurity and professional expertise will enable us to grow more sustainably, tell our story more effectively, and deepen connections with donors and partners who share our mission.”
Founded in 2017 and named in memory of 11-year-old Erin Maxwell, Erin’s Angels of CNY provides weekend and summer meals, scholarships, and outreach services to children in need. The organization recently established an endowed fund in partnership with the Upstate Foundation and expanded its support networks across Central New York.
Pflanz previously held key roles in donor relations and nonprofit communications, where he successfully led fundraising campaigns and secured major gifts to advance mission-driven initiatives. He will work closely with Dion and the board of directors to shape long-term strategy and connect supporters to the impact of their contributions.
“As Erin’s Angels enters this next chapter, I’m honored to help build on the strong foundation already in place,” Pflanz said. “Every child deserves the chance to thrive, to feel seen, and to know they matter. I’m honored to join a movement that turns compassion into action, and I look forward to working with our incredible team, volunteers, and supporters to help build a brighter future for every child we serve.”
