Exelon Employees Share Holiday Spirit with St. Luke Residents

Exelon Employees Share Holiday Spirit with St. Luke Residents

The employees at Exelon Generation’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station continued their tradition of sharing and their generosity will help make this holiday season all the more enjoyable for the residents of St. Luke Health Services in Oswego.

For well over a decade the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station’s Employee “Giving Tree” Program has collected and donated hundreds upon hundreds of holiday gifts for St. Luke residents.

Each St. Luke resident completes a “Christmas Wish List” which is then displayed on one of the holiday trees found around the Exelon plant. Employees then select Christmas wishes from the trees and set about fulfilling those wishes for the nursing home residents.

During St. Luke’s annual holiday parties each of their two hundred residents will find gifts under the Christmas tree just for them, making the holiday celebrations at the healthcare facility all the more special and personal.

“Everyone likes receiving a gift during the holiday season, and thanks to Exelon’s employee Giving Tree Program our residents experience that same sense of joy,” said Greg Osetek, Director of Community Relations. “This program remains an important part of our holiday celebrations here at St. Luke and our sincerest thanks to all the employees of Exelon Generation’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station for the generosity they display towards their very special neighbors in this community, our residents.”

“It’s an amazing and heartwarming site to see when we stop at the Nine Mile Point plant to pick up all of the gifts waiting to be collected for our residents,” said Nicole Greenier, St. Luke’s Volunteer Coordinator. “Gifts collected and donated by Exelon employees are both large and small, depending on the wishes of a particular resident. I can’t help but think that this program demonstrates the best of what the holiday season represents.”
