A demonstration of how to create hand painted silk scarves will take place at Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St., Oswego, from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, March 23.

Cindy Schmidt, of Cranky Cat Collection fame, will display examples, explain the materials and create an original scarf during the demonstration.
This event is part of Lakeside Artisans' month-long anniversary celebration.
"We look forward to hosting Mary Lou Bjorkman, from Picture Connection, for her demonstration on how to choose the proper matte and frame for the art you display from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, March 30," a spokesperson for Lakeside Artisans said.
The March Anniversary Celebration also features fabric artist Kathy Fenlon, whose bags and purses are known for their unusual combinations of colorful patterned fabrics, and a large selection of greeting cards printed from original art by local artist members.
