Harborfest is making its annual call for volunteers to help make one of Central New York's biggest and best festivals enjoy its best year ever.
Community volunteers make the event run smoothly and safely, handling tasks from cleaning and maintenance to managing events and parks. Of particular need this year are people interested in managing parks and providing visitor information. Shifts run only for four to six hours and training is provided.
"Volunteers are the beating heart of Harborfest. It takes hundreds of people to work with our very small part time staff to make this festival a success year after year. Our volunteers return because they have fun throwing the area's largest party. I encourage everyone to think about joining us this year," said Dan Harrington, Executive Director.
