September is National Preparedness Month and staff at St. Luke Health Services, St. Francis Commons and Bishop’s Commons recently completed emergency and safety training exercises across their healthcare campus. Russell Phillips & Associates, a Rochester, N.Y.-based consulting firm with expertise in fire and disaster preparation and prevention provided the training.

The goal of the exercise is to make the kangaroo on the screen hop high enough to capture a medallion as it makes its way across the plain.

The Pregnancy Care Center of Oswego County will be hosting a community event, Realtalk Parents’ Night: Getting Real About “The Talk”, on Tuesday, October 13th at 7 p.m. at the Marano Campus Center, SUNY Oswego.

     For seniors and older adults the results of falling can bring devastating consequences. In an effort to help prevent falls and help frail elders achieve better balance the Rural Health Network of Oswego County established the Oswego County Falls Prevention Coalition. The coalition serves as a valuable resource for older adults and caregivers as it helps them identify ways to prevent falls and identify hazards that could cause a fall.

The Oswego County Health Department today announced that the State Department of Health has approved its plan of closing the Certified Home Healthcare Agency (CHHA).

On February 21st, the City of Oswego Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved a special use permit for business occupancy, moving the Oswego Health Behavioral Health Services project forward. The City's Planning Board is scheduled to review the final site plan for approval on March 6th.
