Pull out your camera and snap a photo of your favorite Oswego County landmarks!

Bekkah Frisch, owner and president of iHeart Oswego, announced today that the media company will be launching a postcard series later this year, featuring landmarks and scenery from across Oswego County. The company is seeking submissions from local photographers for three of the dozen planned designs.

The contest will be open to original photography of noteworthy sites located anywhere in Oswego County, depicting a theme of “adventure.” Strong preference will be given to photos taken by county residents, although anyone is welcome to apply.

The series will include 12 different 4” x 6” postcards, with scenes captured by the community, the iHeart Oswego team, students at Cayuga Community College, and features of unique local businesses like the Kallet Theater in Pulaski. To learn more about having your business featured, email bekkah@iheartoswego.com.

“We want to capture all of the different things people love about our area and highlight Oswego County as a travel destination,” Frisch said. “Part of that means reaching out to our incredible community and giving residents an opportunity to share their favorite landmarks and scenery.”

Submissions should include a high-resolution landscape photograph, a short 1-2 sentence description of the photo, the photographer’s first and last name, and the entrant’s address. Entrants must hold all rights to the photography and agree to give iHeart Oswego license to print and distribute both online and as part of the print postcard series. Please mail entries to community@iheartoswego.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Winners will be announced on or about June 5th.
