Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County will be holding an intermediate level canning workshop on Saturday, October 19th from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the county extension office located on 3288 Main Street, Mexico, NY.
This workshop will provide training beyond a beginner’s level for home gardeners within Oswego County. Individual attendees should have some working knowledge and practical experience with canning before attending this workshop.
Guest speaker will be Jan Smith, a long-time Master Gardener for CCE Oswego County. Jan is certified in food preservation and will be sharing best practices, including food safety guidelines, canning equipment and cost effectiveness. Jan will also be doing an interactive canning demonstration with a focus on tomatoes and peaches. There will be plenty of time for questions.
The cost to attend this workshop is $10 per person. Registration is required and seating is limited.
