The Minetto United Methodist Church will celebrate the coming of Christmas and the winter season with its 25th annual Joy of Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 11, at 4:00 P.M.
The building is fully accessible and is located at the corner of State Route 48 and County Route 8, one block south of the Stewarts Shop, midway between Oswego and Fulton, in the village of Minetto. Its physical address for GPS purposes is 2433 County Route 8, Oswego, NY 13126. The mailing address is PO Box 217, Minetto, NY 13115.
The public is invited to join us as we present a merry group of 90 musicians and singers for a delightful afternoon of entertainment to inspire the spirit of the season. There will be four performing groups: Sounds of Brass, Concinnity, New Horizons Chorus, and the New Horizons Band, all of whom rehearse at the church. The leader of the New Horizons Band, Frank Bickel, said, “You will hear such songs as Winter Wonderland, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, White Christmas, and many more favorites, plus an opportunity to join in the singing. It promises to be an afternoon of relaxation and fun.”
A collection shed is available in the parking lot at the back of the church for usable clothing items that can be recycled. Acceptable items include: all clothing, shoes, sneakers, purses, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, drapes, and stuffed toys.
The church is offering for sale its Minetto Village Christmas Ornament Series to raise funds for several building maintenance projects. The available ornaments are: 2013 Minetto United Methodist Church, 2014 Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 2015 the Minetto Bridge over the Oswego River, and 2016 Minetto Town Hall.
