The Oswego County Legislature declared April as Fair Housing Month on April 10.

The recognition raises awareness of fair housing rights and reaffirms the county’s dedication to ensuring equal housing opportunities for all residents.

This year’s theme is “Bright Colors! Bright Futures! Fair Housing for All!”

To further mark the occasion, children from across the county are invited to enter the annual Oswego County Fair Housing Coloring Contest. It is open to children aged 4 to 12, with three prizes awarded in two separate age groups – 4 to 7 and 8 to 12.

The coloring page can be found in The Oswego Shopper on Saturdays, April 19 and 26.

Completed entries can be submitted to the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning, 46 E. Bridge St., Oswego, NY 13126 by the contest deadline of Friday, May 23.

Prizes are provided thanks to the following sponsors: Lighthouse Lanes, The Children’s Museum of Oswego, Splash Indoor Waterpark, Fulton Savings Bank, Pathfinder Bank and the Oswego County Federal Credit Union.

For more information about the annual coloring contest, call 315-349-8292.
