Leader Barclay to Host Annual Local Landscapes & Landmarks Visual Art Exhibit

Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay today announced he will host the fifth annual Local Landscapes and Landmarks visual art exhibit, where artists from the 120th Assembly District share their talent for capturing Central New York's natural beauty and historic landmarks.

Every year, the art exhibit plays a significant role in celebrating the unique talents and perspectives each artist has to offer while preserving and promoting local culture and history. The art display will be presented in partnership with the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and CNY Community Arts Center. The partnerships with local art associations and the chamber make this event  possible and create a dynamic venue for local artists.

"Each year, I look forward to seeing the exceptional display from local artists. Their work always captures the natural beauty of the 120th district. From stunning waterways to famous landmarks and vibrant parks, the creativity and vision each artist brings to the table is inspiring and is a true testament to their skill and dedication to their craft. I am looking forward to meeting the artists and I'm thrilled to once again partner with the Chamber of Commerce on a project that highlights the charm of our community and our local talent," said Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski).

Watercolors, photography, original prints, pen and ink, acrylic and pencil work will be accepted. Submissions are due by Oct. 14 and should be dropped off at Leader Barclay's District Office, located at 19 Canalview Mall, Fulton, NY 13069. Participants should include their contact information and a brief description of their work preferably taped on the back of their art. Artists can participate if they reside in the following areas: Oswego County, the southern portion of Jefferson County, and northern Cayuga County. For any questions concerning eligibility, a map can be viewed here.

This art show is free to enter and will be juried.  Local restaurant gift cards will be awarded to first and second place artists in painting and drawing, photography, and other works, depending on submissions.  After the exhibit is concluded, the artists may have their work displayed in the Legislative Office Building in Albany. Leader Barclay's district office will keep the art on file until April 2025, and staff will be in contact once the art is ready to be picked up.

The art exhibit will be at CNY Arts Center, located at 121 Cayuga St., Fulton, NY 13069 on Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided for those in attendance. If you have any questions, please contact the district office via email at barclayw@nyassembly.gov or by phone at 315-598-5185.
