Lee Walker Jr, running to represent District 15 of the Oswego County Legislature, affirmed on Thursday that if elected he would donate the entirety of his $12,715 legislative pay to community organizations which serve Oswego’s youth.
Walker has long been a supporter of healthy youth activities. He sponsored a free movie night in Oswego’s Franklin Square Park this summer, in addition to his annual support of the “Christmas In July” night for children at the Oswego Speedway.
In announcing his candidacy earlier this year, Walker spoke highly of growing up in Oswego and emphasized the importance of investing in the community’s next generations.
“I enjoyed my childhood in Oswego and I enjoyed watching my children grow up here as well. Investing in our youth is investing in our future. If I am elected I will be donating 100% of my salary as a legislator to youth activities in Oswego,” said Walker. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to run for legislator of Oswego County’s 15th District and look forward to serving its residents as well as all of Oswego County.”
