Frederick Leighton Elementary is headed towards the finish line for Phase 1 of their playground project!
The current playground is 25 years old and is comprised of splintered and decaying wooden structures. If we meet our fundraising goal, Phase 1 will use a community-build model to install a new and engaging Pre-K – K structure, a bank of 6 swings, big kids climbing net, and a spinner next school year!
Our project has been fueled by a $15,000 grant from Dr Pepper Snapple Group and KaBOOM!, as well as generous local business donations including Pathfinder Bank and Stewart’s Holiday Match Program. Many Leighton families and staff have already stepped up by supporting our fundraisers in the past years. We are almost there! Donations through crowdrise are up to $600 https://www.crowdrise.com/frederick-leighton-elementary-playground
BONUS: You can also donate your redeemable cans and bottles to Great Lakes Recycling and say they're for Leighton! There is also a bin at Leighton Elementary that is picked up every Friday!
