To the Editor,

At a time when our nation feels pulled in so many directions, our community has an opportunity to stand together with clarity and purpose.

On Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., neighbors from across Oswego and beyond will gather around the Bridge Street Bridge for this year’s No Kings Rally. The gathering is a peaceful demonstration rooted in the belief that democracy is strongest when every voice is heard and every person stands equal.

This year’s rally embraces two guiding themes: No Kings and No Wars. These are not just slogans; they are reminders of the values that have shaped our country from the beginning. They call us to reject the concentration of power in the hands of any one individual and to recommit ourselves to a future where conflicts are resolved not through violence, but through dialogue, compassion, and collective resolve.

Organizers are preparing for a vibrant turnout, and additional rally zones will extend two blocks east of the bridge to welcome all who wish to participate. A trained safety team will be on hand to ensure that the event remains the peaceful, respectful gathering it is intended to be.

Everyone is invited:  families, students, workers, retirees, longtime residents, and newcomers alike. This rally is not about division; it is about unity. It is about remembering that democracy is not a spectator activity. It is something we protect together and renew together.

On March 28, let us show what a community looks like when it stands tall for its principles. Let us gather not in anger, but in hope. Not in fear, but in determination. And not as strangers, but as citizens committed to shaping a future worthy of the generations who will follow us.

Sincerely,

Indivisible Oswego County
