Got your running/walking/dancing shoes ready?  Light Up the Night is only a few days away.

This exciting 5k Run/Walk has some unique features and will raise money to support ARISE’s work to ensure independence for people with disabilities.

The event takes place Sept. 13. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. with the run starting at 7 p.m.  It starts at Franklin Square, (West Side Park, West Fourth and Seneca Streets) in Oswego.

Pre-registration is $20 and can be done at www.ezracereg.com. On-site registration is $25 on the evening of the event. Glow in the dark T-shirts will be available in limited supply, as well as glow sticks and bracelets.  We will start the event with a couple of party dances and then the 5K Run will take off. The route goes over to Fort Ontario and back. The walk will start shortly after the runners depart and will go almost the same route with slight variation.

All walkers are encouraged to wear glow in the dark items, clothing, body paint, glow sticks or carry glow items, even battery operated lights and costumes. We will proceed to the Fort where we will stop and do a few more party dances, then back to Franklin Square and one more dance to finish off the evening. The walk is designed to be inclusive of those with disabilities and parents with strollers are welcome.

Come join us and have a great evening, dance, laugh and exercise all at the same time. How will you Light Up The Night?
