The Zonta Club of Oswego, in partnership with SUNY Oswego’s Penfield Library, is excited to announce the return of Maker Madness, a free, family-friendly celebration of creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning.

The event will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Penfield Library on the SUNY Oswego campus.

Designed for children of all ages, Maker Madness encourages young people to step into the roles of scientists, explorers, engineers, artists, and innovators. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of STEAM-focused activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), guided by skilled makers from the community.

“The Zonta Club of Oswego is excited to bring the community together for our annual Maker Madness event in celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8,” shared Kristin LaBarge, President of the Zonta Club of Oswego. “Maker Madness is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore the exciting world of STEAM! It’s a must-attend for anyone who loves to learn and create. This event supports the Zonta Club of Oswego’s mission in advancing the status of women and girls, and we couldn’t be happier to partner with wonderful organizations to offer it in our community.”

Throughout the afternoon, scientists, hobbyists, tinkerers, and artists will demonstrate their skills and guide participants through projects and demonstrations. Past activities have included robotics, coding, chemistry experiments, arts and crafts, LEGO engineering and more, making the event an exciting afternoon of exploration and discovery for families.

Maker Madness is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to drop in anytime during event hours to enjoy the fun. Free parking is available in Lot 1 (north of the library). Per SUNY Oswego Policy, children under age 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event.

The Zonta Club of Oswego is a leading service organization in the Oswego community. Zonta members are caring, strong, and passionate about creating a more equitable society. For more information about Zonta or Maker Madness, visit the Zonta Club of Oswego Facebook page.

Makers are invited to apply for a table to participate at this event before February 27, 2026, by contacting Jenn Joyce, jennifer.joyce@oswego.edu.
