The Red Schoolhouse Maple's Sugar House, in Fulton, N. Y. opened New York State's Maple Weekends to a packed house.
They were celebrating part one of Maple Weekends last Saturday, March 23rd and Sunday, March 24th. Along with the traditional pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon, there was also the 4th annual Maple Cook-Off, Cooking with Maple demonstrations, Hoffman's Maple Sausage sandwiches, and Maple Bourbon Sundaes!
The annual cook-off is between the reigning champion since 2016, Kathy's Cakes and Specialty Treats of Fulton, N.Y., John Grouber, an Oswego, N.Y. based Foodie and Joslin Farms & Bakery of Fulton, N.Y.. Round one was taken by Joslin Farms & Bakery for her Cinnamon Buns with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting, as the first winner in the two-weekend competition.
Looking ahead to this Saturday and Sunday (March 30th and 31st) you can find awesome activities for the whole family so come on out to the sugar house for delicious samples, cooking tips using pure maple products, delicious breakfast and lunch and of course, judging the cook-off!
